Depending on mileage covered an IBC may be even more cost effective than a drum or canister. 1000L IBCs come with the possibility to integrate with a manual or electrical pump. One of the main advantages of our IBCs is that you can place it where you really need it.
*If you do not have a forklift onsite, please contact us ASAP so we can arrange something for you.*
*If this is your first order please ensure you add IBC deposit to your basket - product code is 40040170".
Due to the high value of the IBC containers that the product is supplied in, a deposit is required on each unit that will then be refunded when the container is returned (in good condition).
For first time customers, a £100 deposit will be required in addition to the AdBlue price listed that will be refunded if no more IBCs are ordered. This is on the condition that the container is kept in the condition that it was delivered in. Please ensure you have added a contact number when entering delivery details so we can contact you to request the deposit.
For customers that have already ordered an IBC and just want it refilling, we will deliver a new IBC of the product and collect the previous one, meaning the deposit is transferred onto the new container.
Please make the appropriate selection when you place your order to let us know if you are a first time or repeat customer.
What is AdBlue?
AdBlue is a highly purified colourless liquid. It contains demineralised water and urea (32.5%). AdBlue is used with diesel engines and is also known outside of Europe as DEF, ARLA 32 or AUS 32.
Do I need AdBlue?
If you use a modern diesel powered machine fitted with an SCR catalyst, you will need AdBlue.
Your vehicle needs AdBlue to reduce NOx output. Due to the increasingly stringent emission legislation, diesel
engines need to run more cleanly. NOx standards have sharpened for transportation vehicles, as well as off-road vehicles and passenger cars. All commercial vehicle manufacturers have to meet the Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards for diesel engine emission. Although Euro 5 emission standards could be met by different technologies, Euro 6 standards (into force January 2014) require the use of Selective Catalytic Reduction with AdBlue.
How much AdBlue do I need?
Your AdBlue consumption depends on your type of operation. A full tank of AdBlue will last several tanks of
Estimated usage for trucks:
The average use of AdBlue vs diesel for trucks is 4 to 8%.
- Local distribution: Approximately 500L in one year
- National distribution: Approximately 1,000L in one year
- International distribution: Approximately 2,500L in one year
Running out of AdBlue... If I run out of AdBlue, am I running illegally?
AdBlue limits the amount of harmful emission from your engine. Emission legislation allows only small amounts
of NOx. If you exceed this limit when running without AdBlue, you may be running illegally.
Note: Legislation will not allow you to start your engine without AdBlue.
